Mommy turns 30!

Lindsay threw a surprise 30th birthday party for me...I was completely oblivious! Alec went home with Grandma after dinner (where Nick had Ava already bathed and in bed due to an outrageous blow out poopy on the way to dinner) and we were able to spend a few hours hanging out at the party. Looking back, I should have been suspicious because Lindsay and Scott were missing from my birthday dinner, but I believe anything they tell me!! It was a great time and I got to spend it with so many wonderful friends and family. Thank you so much Lindsay, I love you!

Traverse City

The two above are Ava's photos...she did pretty good with Mommy's camera!

We went to TC with Uncle Scott and Aunt Lindsay for the weekend. The weather was cold and rainy but it was a great time!! We really love hanging out with them, they are the best! Ava found two wooden ducks in the cottage and immediately fell in love with them. She carried the baby duck around everywhere and even took it to bed with her! We were worried we would need to leave a note and a check for Scott's family who own the cottage, explaining where the duck went! Saturday night was dry enough for a fire and we all spent a little time enjoying the outdoors and the campfire. We can't wait to do it again next year!

Bode really has a tough life; he only has two pillows to lay on right now!! My next life will be that of a spoiled rotten dog!

Hangin out

The Big Guy, Ava and I have been spending lots of time playing and sweating in this August weather. It is a great chance for me to get in as much quality time as I can. I have to go back to work all too soon and I will miss all of this time I have with my children!! Here is Alec, enjoying his time out of the heat! Ava wanted to have her picture taken, too, fresh out of the tub.

Play set

Nick and I decided that Ava needs something she can officially climb on and swing on, other than the cupboards, sink, counters and stairs. Nick put together this swing set for her and she is loving it!! Her favorite part is the "teeter-totter" or this swing she is on. She loves to grab the swing next to it and tell you, "I GOT IT!!" She is constantly on the go and pushing the limits. She definitely keeps you on your toes! I am not sure how someone so tiny can do everything she does. She is amazing!

One Month Old

Alec is growing and growing. I can't believe he is one month old already...where does the time go? He is eating well and sleeping even better. He has more awake time every day and loves to watch his big sister run around like a crazy girl. His smiles are just enough to melt my heart every single time. What a wonderful little man!
