Tummy Time!

Still not a fan of tummy time, but getting better at it!!
Just yesterday, July 16, Ava rolled over for the first time!! She has done it three times since then! What a big girl she is getting to be! I haven't caught it on camera yet, though...we'll get it one of these times!

3 Months Old!

Ava is 3 months old today! It is so amazing how fast time goes by, I can't believe it! She sat in her Bumbo seat for the first time and we thought she looked so cute, we had to take lots of pictures! She is holding her head up very well, smiling at everything she sees, and holding on to her sassy links when she plays. It is so much fun to watch her grow and change! Bode thought he should take part in the action, too!

4th of July

Ava had a great time on her 1st 4th of July...she went with Daddy, Grandma, Aunt Lindsay, and Uncle Scott to the Haveman family 4th celebration in Grant. She was so cute in her little dress and panties! I had to work so I missed the festivities, but I got to see the pictures.

Check Up

We finally had our 2 month check up...about two weeks late!! Oh well, we wanted to see a certain doctor and she was on vacation so we just waited. Ava is now a whopping 9 pounds 1 ounce and she is 21 inches long--holy cow! She is in the 10th percentile for both height and weight--which shows she is growing appropriately. I don't think we will ever see the 90th percentile like Ava's future boyfriend Cole, but that is fine! She will just be a petite little girl!

The immunizations were terrible, she showed off her amazing lung power for a while after the nurses gave her the shots. I now have a whole new perspective on giving babies shots!

I went back to work this weekend. It was so hard to leave her, I cried the whole way there. I decided I better pull myself together when the valet guy at the entrance to the hospital made a comment on how it didn't look like I was ready to be at work! He had no idea how right he was!! But it was good to use my brain again and see my friends. Plus, I got to show off her pictures and talk about her all night long. That made things go by much faster!

My mom retired from teaching after 36 years and has moved into her new house. We are so happy to have her close by! She watched Ava on Monday morning until I got home from work. It all worked out perfectly. We are so lucky to have her as Ava's babysitter! Plus, Ava loves being with her grandma...she is so much fun! She has so many plans for the games her and Ava will play, I am not sure Ava will ever want to stay home with her parents!!

Fashion Fun

It has been so much fun to get dressed lately. For the first eight weeks of her life Ava has been limited to about six outfits because everything else was too big. For those who have seen her closet, you can imagine how bad I've wanted to change it up! We thought that now that we can fit into more clothes, we would show off her new style!

We go to the doctor on Thursday to get weighed and measured...finally! I have been so curious to know how much she has grown! I hope she does well with her immunizations, too.

I have to go back to work this weekend. I am really NOT looking forward to spending so much time away from Ava. I know I am lucky that the time I am away is at night and she will be sleeping, but it is still so hard. I am thankful I work three days a week; it would be terrible to have to leave for the majority of the day, every single day! I know I will get over it, but for now I am very sad! These past two months have gone by faster than the blink of an eye. I hope this is not how life is going to be from now on--time needs to slow down just a little bit!
